Environmental Engineering

The study program of master's academic studies in Environmental Engineering is accredited by the Certificate of the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance of the Republic of Serbia bpoj: 612-00-00899 / 2017-06 from 08.09.2017. years.

The study program lasts one year (60 ECTS), belongs to the field of technical and technological sciences and gives the academic title of "master engineer of environmental protection".

The conditions for enrollment in the study program and other most important elements of the study program and study regime are prescribed by the Statute and the Rulebook on the regime of basic and master studies of the Faculty of Engineering.

In addition to taking the exam, the realization of professional practice is also planned, as well as the preparation of a master's thesis.

Learning outcomes in the study program should ensure that students based on the acquired abilities:

  • explain the causes and propose solutions to current environmental problems,
  • competently analyze domestic and international regulations in the field of solid waste management,
  • know the regulations and technologies used today in water treatment,
  • analyze and apply the appropriate method of water treatment in communal and industrial systems,
  • know the sources and methods of air pollution, legal restrictions and methods of measurement, as well as basic devices, plants and methods for removing pollutants from the air,
  • govern the integral principles of environmental protection at different hierarchical levels,
  • determine the main factors of the observed system, their impact on the environment and conduct a detailed life cycle analysis in accordance with ISO standard technologies,
  • identify sources of harmful physical parameters of the environment and working environment and assess and manage appropriate risks,
  • get involved in teams for the development of environmental and energy plans, work with various stakeholders, as well as use modern computer tools and techniques,
  • analyze the sources and methods of air pollution, legal restrictions and methods of measurement, as well as basic devices, plants, their calculation, as well as the application of methods for removing pollutants from the air and methods of calculating the concentration of pollutants in the atmosphere,
  • application of new technologies used today in water treatment,
  • competently analyze and apply modern technologies in the field of solid waste management,
  • independently carry out the procedure of drafting plans for sustainable solid waste management,
  • apply the steps when applying for a project and know the critical success factors in project management.
